Registered Psychotherapist
Born to a working-class expat Canadian family in Dubai, my life has been a journey across cultures, societies, and philosophies. At 17, I moved back to Canada alone, navigating through deeply transformative experiences - some good, some quite challenging - that now are a part of who I am today. Along with a practicing psychotherapist, I maintain a wide array of interests, including philosophy, history, and other mind-expanding studies. My work is highly influenced by figures like Carl Jung, Alfred Adler, Murray Bowen, Marie-Louise von Franz, Hermes Trismegistus, Asclepius, and many other great minds. I mainly practice from a Psychodynamic approach, which incorporates classic Psychoanalysis, Jungian Analysis, Adlerian Psychotherapy, and Bowenian Family Systems. We can explore how Psychodynamic Psychotherapy applies to your life experiences together in a professional, empathetic, and judgment-free environment. I am respectful to all cultural, religious, political, and philosophical values, beliefs, and perspectives. I look forward to accompanying you through this enlightening journey of self-actualization.

Sessions with Adnan
In an intake session, I will ask you to share your story about your present-day symptoms, struggles, and difficulties. We’ll then work together to identify the core issues to be addressed in therapy while gathering background information. In the subsequent 4 to 8 sessions, we will work together to assess the origins and explore the scope of your presenting issues. I will conduct a comprehensive scientific, evidence-based, and well-researched assessment of your difficulties to help you gain insight and understanding of what might be at the root of your struggles with anxiety, depression or your relationship problems. During this assessment, I will use scientific, evidence-based measures along with an in-depth personal history and an account of your life experiences to provide you with insights about the nature of your current symptoms. In the third phase of our therapy, the knowledge and insight obtained from our initial session and the assessment process will be used for further exploration and to develop targeted strategies to foster change. We’ll first work together to diminish your symptoms and associated distress, and then we’ll deepen our work to understand and change self and relationship issues underlying your concerns and symptoms.
